A Max Haus apartment (exposed concrete) and an eccentric request: completely invert the suite's layout. The old closet was to become the bathroom (to gain the view) and the bathroom would become the closet. The technical challenge: how to redo all the plumbing and hide the AC infrastructure without a plaster ceiling?
""An engineering-and-design solution. We created the new bathroom (with black mosaic tiles and a concrete countertop) with a raised floor under the toilet and the new wardrobe, inverting all the plumbing. For the air conditioning, we designed a false drywall beam, clad in mirror, that camouflages itself and hides the infrastructure. This \"mirror beam\" also acts as the mounting structure for the wardrobe's new sliding door. Floors, walls and the original ceiling were kept, respecting the brutalist architecture.
